AQT was awarded a European tender for a trapped-ion quantum computer, with installation set for 2025
In July 2024, AQT once again won a Europe-wide tender for the delivery of an ion-trap-based quantum computer. AQT is delivering a quantum computer to the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) in Poland. The total value of the delivery, including services, amounts to 12.28 million euros. The installation of the system will begin in 2025.

The procurement contract for EuroQCS-Poland, the EuroHPC quantum computer to be installed in Poland, was signed by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and the selected supplier, AQT. The signing took place on July 10, 2024. Further information can be found here. The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) is a joint initiative between the EU, European countries and private partners to develop a World Class Supercomputing Ecosystem in Europe.
AQT’s quantum computer is characterized by its innovative and proven architecture, as well as its modularity and expandability. AQT’s system fits into two 19-inch data center standard racks. The system has demonstrated the highest quantum volume in Europe so far and applications in numerous quantum computing use cases. Additionally, the system operates at room temperature and consumes less than two kilowatts of electrical power eliminating the need for special cooling, water, or extensive energy infrastructure.
This quantum computer will primarily target research and innovation and will be available to a broad range of European users, from the scientific community to industry and the public sector. It will support the development of a wide range of applications with industrial, scientific and societal relevance for Europe, adding new capabilities to the European supercomputing infrastructure.
As early as December 2023, AQT had delivered a complete quantum computer system to Munich. The Public Relations and Communications team is your first contact for press/media enquiries and any general questions concerning AQT.
