Quantum Showcase Austria at the European Forum Alpbach
AQT co-founders Thomas Monz and Rainer Blatt are going to attend the European Forum Alpbach 2019. On August 16-22, they host a introductory seminar on quantum technologies and present the Quantum Showcase Austria.
For the Quantum Showcase Austria at the Congress Centrum Alpbach, AQT and quantum researchers from the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Academy of Sciences demonstrate the storage and cooling of atoms. They explain for instance how new sensors and watches can be built as an improved GPS with centimeter resolution and how Austrian researchers are involved in revolutionary and novel approaches to problems e.g. in chemistry, logistics and finance. The discussions and explanations on fundamental research are complemented by details for the realization of the first Austrian, commercially successful quantum computer.
